Located in Lefay Resort, a beautiful 5-star hotel with wonderful views of Lake Garda, this spa not only offers a water circuit or beauty programmes, they have also developed health methods combining traditional Chinese medicine and western scientific research.

The spa is divided into three areas, the "World of Water and Fire", which includes all areas connected to swimming pools, saunas, grottos and small lakes; “Nature and Fitness”, which consists of a large gym fitted out with all the latest equipment for training and a fitness studio for courses and fitness activities; and “In Silence and among the Stars: Trilogy in the Air”, which is made up of all the outdoor areas equipped for sporting activities and trails dedicated to wellness and relaxation.

They also offer a special diet menu created according to the principles of western and energy dietetics and also on the basis of dietary behaviour techniques. It is a detoxifying and to a certain extent low-calories dietary approach whose purpose is to ensure energy supply through foods that have been especially selected for their qualities and which are treated with cooking methods that do not put excessive strain on the digestive system.

Their innovative health programmes, tailored to guests, can help boost energy, correct posture, loose weight, combat ageing or overcome sleep disorders. There are also various wellness and beauty programmes, including one aimed at children, massages, thalassotherapy, and a make-up and hair salon.

The spa has heated indoor and outdoor salt-water pools, a whirpool, 2 relaxation areas with lake views, and many water features, as well as various saunas, steam rooms, and a gym where they also organise fitness classes and offer personal training. There are also 2 private spa suites which offer wellness packages for couples.

2. Hyatt Spa, Milan - Centre

Located right in front of Galleria Vittorio Emmanuelle II, the spa at the Park Hyatt hotel offers a wide range of beauty treatments by Sisley, as well as wellness programmes.

The menu comprises selection of famous Sisley treatments and, for the first time, Soin Phyto-Aromatique Jeunesse Repulpant à la Rose; an extraordinary, timeless experience with the lovely natural scent of rose. The spa’s holistic treatments are unique, and are all created specifically for each individual guest; focused on giving (and creating) the perfect balance between body, mind, and soul.

The spa also offers female and male Turkish baths, a hot tub in gold mosaic and a cosy sitting area, two treatment rooms (each with private shower) where guests can go for a massage, facial and body treatments and beauty services. The magical whirlpool is composed of 250,000 tiny pieces of mosaic, each with a background application of a 24-carat gold leaf. It is protected by partially transparent glass to guarantee total privacy and can accommodate up to four people.

There is also a private spa room, created for those who desire to receive treatments in total privacy. Should couples wish to have simultaneous treatments, the room can accommodate two beds. One can also find a private Turkish bath filled with aromatic essences, and a ceiling that’s adorned with lights that slowly change colour.

The spa is open both to hotel guests and visitors from 09:00 to 21:00.

The Bulgari Spa is a serene and stylish sanctuary for body and mind. The spa is housed in a 17th century convent with neighbouring ancient botanical gardens. The interior is spacious and elegant with a zen sense of minimalism. An emerald green-walled hammam gives the impression of a precious jewel set before a gold mosaic swimming pool. Located next to the train station, in the luxury 5-star Excelsior Gallia Hotel, this spa is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Its 100m2 include an indoor pool and a private suite spa.

An oasis of peace, this spa is located in the C-Hotel in Cassago Brianza. Built around bright and essential spaces decorated with valuable materials, it has fabulous panoramic views.

There is a bistro where to grab a bite. The spa consists of 3 thermal pools, a steam room, a waterfall, a relaxation area and a solarium. They also offer treatments with innovative professional products, and exclusive massage techniques.

Located in the 5-star Eden Roc hotel, right in front of Lake Maggiore. They have a large relaxation area, outdoor pools, a garden and sun loungers alongside the lake.

Facilities include an indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools, a jacuzzi, Maggia Kneipp path, sauna world, 7 treatment rooms designed by Carlo Rampazzi, a fitness centre, hair salon and nail lounge.

It is open to guests and non-guests alike. Non-residents can purchase half-day, full-day passes, as well as 1 to 8 months memberships. Open daily, 7:00-21:00 (closes at 20:00 during the winter).

7. Boscolo Exedra Hotel Spa

The ultra-modern, verging on futuristic, Exedra spa and wellness centre is the largest spa facility in Milan.

It is housed in the elegant five-star Boscolo hotel. An area of almost 600 lavish square metres comprised of a heated indoor swimming pool, waterfalls, bubblebeds, sauna and Turkish baths is dedicated to body pampering. 9. Terme Milano Spa

Terme Milano is a spa housed in a magnificent Art Deco palazzo dating from 1908. The spa features Spanish gardens with hydro-massage mineral baths and a huge solarium enclosed by walls from the 16th century which were built by Ferrante Gonzaga. In addition to the baths, facilities include bio-saunas, hammam, Turkish baths and massage centre. Guests can enjoy a light buffet. The Terme Milano is open late on weekends and is ideally situated, after a rejuvenating session, to go all-night-clubbing in the Porta Romana area.

The spa, wellness and sport centre are attached to a seriously opulent hotel set in magnificent gardens right on the edge of Lake Como. Located in the Iseo Lago Hotel, the spa has been named after the legendary fairies that populated the lake in the 1700s.

They offer a wide range of beauty and relaxation treatments, as well as a spa circuit with jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, relaxation area and fitness room. Additionally, they have personal training services, pilates, and "Sparty", to celebrate special moments with massages, beauty treatments, manicures, etc.

17. Bagni Nuovi Spa, Valdidentro

The natural hot water springs of Bormio derive from nine sources originating in the Dolomite rocks of Mount Reit. The health-giving properties of the mineral water flow to the baths unaltered by chemicals. The facility is laid out in the gardens surrounding the five-star 19th century Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi and in the cavernous spaces of the hotel's basement. The complex has an earthy, wholesome ambience. Guests can rejuvenate in open air pools (surrounded by snow in winter), private hot-tubs, under high-intensity waterfalls and in Nordic-style log cabins. The springs are known for their natural exfoliating properties (due to mud suspended in the water). The spa can also be appreciated for traditional carpentry dating back to the 9th century.
