This 18-hole, par 72, golf course was designed by Franco Piras and realised in 2002.

The course extends over 6,673 m and was designed as a true championship course. Five strategically-positioned lakes provide ample technical challenge. In addition, a 9-hole par 3 executive course is well suited to beginners. The club is situated in a splendid natural setting between the river Adda and a woody hill. The emphasis of the cosy, welcoming clubhouse is on homely hospitality rather than sophistication.

2. Le Robinie Golf Course

Big-hitters will enjoy the generous width fairways but be aware of the lake-size water hazards.

As part of a 100-room resort, the Robinie is the ideal location for hosting large events and is located just 20 mins drive from Milan and 10 mins from Malpensa International Airport. The resort is based around a converted 19th-century Lombardi farmhouse and includes three restaurants, a swimming pool and spa area, clubhouses and six meeting halls.

3. Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Course, Lake Como

An Old England styled public golf course set prestigiously on the shores of Lake Como.

This 18-hole golf course was established by four English gentlemen headed by banker Henry John Mylius in 1907 with the intention of recreating a familiar English setting. The Roncoroni family took over in 1961 but maintained the club's English character. The course is a par 70 and is characterised by natural terrain features including narrow fairways and steep inclines. There is a clubhouse, restaurant and library.

4. Iles Borromees Golf Course, Stresa

Golf Des Iles Borromées is an 18 hole course built in a natural and uncontaminated environment situated 500 metres above sea level. It has a southerly exposure, fresh in summer and sunny in winter, and from the 18th tee, you can often see the skyline of Milan and four lakes: Maggiore, Varese, Montae and Comabbio.

Open all year round except for January. Closed Mondays, from May - September included open 7 days a week.

5. Bogliaco Golf Course, Toscolano Maderno

Elevated in the hills on Lake Garda's western side, Bogliaco golf course and resort is blessed with a Mediterranean setting and superb views.

The mild climate enables golfers to play all year round on this 18 hole certified course, a short par 67. Developed in 1912 by an enterprising hotel owner to meet the increasing demands of international tourism, Bogliaco Golf Club became the third golf course in Italy. The course was reinvented as a wheat field, an aeroplane runway for German troops and an American baseball pitch before it regained its standing as a golf course in 1953. Facilities include a swimming pool, bar and restaurant and a pro shop.

This 18-hole course was built in 1928 in the historic Royal Park of Monza. The three paths of the course are set within an ancient wood, requiring the player to think carefully about each shot, with a focus on precision in the front 9 and long shots on the back 9.
