Da Mimmo Restaurant, Bergamo

Former postal service building, now a top Italian restaurant.

featured in Restaurants Updated

When this building was constructed in 1357, it was considered the most magnificent building in the city and became the site of the Veneto postal service. This historical site is now a great restaurant which has been run by the same family since 1956.

Serving only seasonal, fresh produce from local growers, this restaurant is part of the SlowFood alliance. Their menu is full of raditional family recipes that change regularly. Their pizza recipe hasn't changed in 60 years - and is always a good choice, made with San Marzano tomatoes, mozarella di buffala campana, fresh basil, extra-virgin olive oil and cooked in a wood-fire oven

Fantastic cooking presides, as well as a carefully selected wine list including their very own production of red and white. They cater well for little ones too.

Open Wednesday to Monday from 12:00 to 14:30 and from 19:00 to 23:00. Tuesday from 19:00 to 23:00.

Visitor comments

  • "A complimentary glass of Prosecco started our dining experience. Excellent service and food with a great atmosphere." - Trip Advisor
  • "Excellent service, like most places I found in Bergamo, discreet but friendly and perfectly timed! I went for dinner twice in four days, the pasta was delicious and the pizzas looked great too. Also excellent local wine. There are two connected dining rooms both beautifully decorated, spacious and airy. You can read all about the history of Damimmo and it's owners, it's obvious they put their heart and soul into what they do." - Trip Advisor
  • "Stayed in Bergamo for two nights & ate at the restaurant both evenings because it was so good. Family run, local produce, excellent service and a commentary glass of prosecco- what more could you want?" - Trip Advisor
