Cafe culture

Milan is rife with little cafes where you can pick up a fine dark-roasted Italian coffee or sample the finest patisseries of the day. Few Italians sit down and take time over their coffee - they're often in and out within a few minutes. A popular Milanese order is a 'marocchino' - Moroccan coffee - espresso, cocoa powder and frothed milk. Visit places like Zucca and Cafe Biffi to soak up the city's history.
