Trussardi Cafe, Milan

Fashionable cafe surrounded by a vertical garden

featured in Cafes & delis Updated

This ritzy cafe is the place to see and be seen, literally. Half of the cafe is a glass cube that juts into via San Dalmazio, decked out with a roof of hanging vines.

Housed in the Palazzo Trussardi, the innovative architectural extension is the creative work of design studio Carlo Ratti Associati. The cafe is an extension of the Trussardi 1911 fashion concept store with a ground floor space of 400 m2 and a monumental freestanding marble counter centrepiece.

The 'contemporary international' menu with a 'touch of countryside' is not extensive, but caters for vegetarians and carnivores alike. You can have breakfast, 'aperitivo' and lunch at this designer cafe near La Scala.

Open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 23:00; Saturday from 12:00 to 23:00. Kitchen open all day long. They close on Sundays, and usually couple of weeks in August.

  • "On our last day in Milan we wanted to have one last decent Italian coffee. We were amazed by the vertical garden on their porch. All three of us took a latte macchiato and concluded that this was one of our best coffees ever." - Trip Advisor
  • "I've been to Café Trussardi a couple of times and absolutely love it! The place is just beautiful, the trees making it an oasis in town. Food is great - the pumpkin risotto is highly recommended! Great value for money." - Trip Advisor
  • "Modern Design next to the Teatro alla Scala and the Duomo. Different than most restaurants in the area, this is not a tourist's trap. Excellent food, with attention to quality and presentation at affordable prices. Professional service makes the experience unique." - Trip Advisor
